Discourse analysis, which has today become an interdisciplinary trend in the social sciences, is the product of studying language as a social phenomenon through a sociological approach to language. It implies that text is a social matter that is formed through social relations, not independently of them. This is a modern method for researching communicative texts. Unlike traditional approaches, this approach does not deal with text analysis based solely on morphological and syntactic methods; rather, it goes beyond that to examine external factors of the text, namely context and cultural, social, and political situations. One of the most famous theories of critical discourse analysis is that of Norman Fairclough. Fairclough approaches his critical analysis at three levels: description, interpretation, and explanation. Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet is one of the classic texts of mystical and philosophical literature of the twentieth century, which, in the form of poetic discourses, addresses fundamental questions of human life and is analyzable based on critical discourse theory. This article, drawing on Norman Fairclough's model of critical discourse analysis, examines the linguistic, discursive, and social layers of this work. The findings show that in this book, Kahlil Gibran, through the use of symbolic vocabulary, influential linguistic structure, and mystical and humanistic themes, represents a discourse based on love, freedom, forgiveness, justice, and spiritual transcendence. Furthermore, examining the text at Fairclough's three levels reveals that the author uses language to critique certain social limitations and materialism, while highlighting human and spiritual values. At the social level, the book, in opposition to official and authoritarian discourses, proposes a kind of individual-centered and liberating spirituality.
